Chlorophyll

Chlorophyll (Chlorophyl) is a kind of green pigment contained in higher plants and all other photosynthetic organisms. There are many kinds of chlorophyll, such as chlorophyll A, B, C and D, as well as chlorophylls of bacteria and chlorophylls, etc., which are mainly related to food are two kinds of chlorophyll A and B in higher plants. The common characteristic of the structure is that the structure consists of four pyrrole porphyrin rings, four pyrrole and magnesium metal elements. Chlorophyll is found in the chloroform of a leaf. In chlorophylls, chlorophyll can be seen as embedded between a protein layer and a carotenoid lipid with a chain next to the chlorophyll-phytol chain. When the cell dies, chlorophyll is freed from the chloroplast. The free chloroplast is unstable and sensitive to heat or light. [1] Chlorophyll is a necessary catalyst for photosynthesis in plants. Chlorophyll A is a blue-black crystal with a melting point of 150-153℃, while chlorophyll B is a dark crystal with a melting point of 120-130℃. [2] Both chlorophyll A and chlorophyll B are soluble in solvents such as ethanol, ether and acetone, but insoluble in water. Therefore, chlorophyll can be extracted with polar solvents such as acetone, methanol, ethanol and ethyl acetate.
